Saint Anne’s Hospital invites area medical professionals to learn about working with deaf and hard-of-hearing patients

Medical professionals wishing to enhance their competency in working with patients who are deaf or hard of hearing are invited to a free program, “What Medical Professionals Need to Know about Working with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Patients in the Medical Setting,” on Wednesday, February 25, from 12-1 p.m. at Saint Anne’s Hospital.

Gynecologist Melinda R. Birdsall, MD, FACOG received the 2014 On-Time Doctor Award from Vitals.com, a health care search engine which rates physicians in many areas, including how promptly they see patients.

According to Vitals.com, the national average for wait time to see a physician is just over 20 minutes. Physicians who received the Vitals On-Time Doctor award had patients with an average wait time of 11 minutes.
