Good Samaritan Medical Center, a part of the Steward Health Care System (Steward) is pleased to announce that Park Surgical Associates, Inc., a prominent group of five surgeons in Brockton, will become a member of Steward Medical Group effective August 1, 2014.

Saint Anne’s Hospital Regional Cancer Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in radiation oncology as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology.

On Monday, July 28, 2014, Joseph Roach will become the new president of Holy Family Hospital and Merrimack Valley Hospital. He will be assuming the leadership of the two campuses just a few days before the merger of the two hospitals is complete. As of August 1st, Merrimack Valley Hospital will be called Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley. The two campuses, approximately 10 miles apart, will now operate under the Holy Family Hospital license.

Norwood Hospital, a part of the Steward Health Care System (Steward), and Health Express, a growing urgent care provider in Massachusetts, announced the opening of Health Express with Norwood Hospital at 1345 Boston Providence Highway (Rt. 1 South) in Norwood. Steward now has the largest integrated network of urgent care providers in Massachusetts with 24 affiliated urgent care locations to be opened within the next year.

The Saint Anne’s Hospital medical staff has announced that Stacey Duffy, of Pawtucket, and Monica Souza, of North Dighton, have been named recipients of this year’s “John A. Arcuri, MD, 2014 Scholarship Awards.”

Two area students pursuing higher education in a health care career have been named winners of the 2014 Saint Anne’s Hospital Multicultural Health Committee scholarships.
