The Medical Center of Southeast Texas has received the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Silver Award from TMF® Health Quality Institute, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Texas. TMF established the awards program in partnership with The Texas Hospital Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association.

Mental illnesses are medical conditions that disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. Mental illnesses often result in a diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life if left untreated. More than 54 million Americans are affected by mental illness each year.

New Status as Accredited Chest Pain Center

Port Arthur, Texas – April 10, 2012.  The Medical Center of Southeast Texas announces that it has received Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC), an international not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming cardiovascular care by assisting facilities in their effort to create communities of excellence that bring together quality, cost and patient satisfaction.
 

Glenwood Regional Medical Center Receives Louisiana Hospital Capstone Quality Award

West Monroe, LA – Glenwood Regional Medical Center has received the 2010 Louisiana Hospital Capstone Quality Award, presented by eQHealth Solutions, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Louisiana. This award recognizes Glenwood as one of only 38 hospitals in the state for achieving certain improvements in the quality of health care given to their patients.

New PET/CT Technology at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas Offers Improved Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment

PORT ARTHUR, Texas.  Monday– April 11, 2011.  The Medical Center of Southeast Texas will offer patients a powerful new diagnostic imaging system known as PET/CT.  This hybrid technology combines the strengths of two well-established imaging modalities in one imaging session to more accurately diagnose and locate cancers while increasing patient comfort.
