Sharon Regional Medical Center receives Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award

Sharon Regional Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital, has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

TRMC among Steward hospitals to feature Twiage app

During any emergency situation time is of the essence. Three local Steward Health Care Hospitals have begun
using a HIPPA-complaint app to expedite care in these situations.
Northside Regional Medical Center, Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Sharon Regional Medical Center now feature Twiage, an app that allows emergency responders to share patient information with hospital personnel real-time, to expedite lifesaving care.
Twiage offers emergency responders the ability to use a smartphone to share real-time patient data and send HIPAA-compliant photos and videos.

Housing Department Receives Grant to Transform St. Luke's Neighborhood

The city of Phoenix Housing Department has been awarded a $30 million Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to improve a community with the largest concentration of public housing in the state.  The funds will be used to transform the Edison-Eastlake community into a vibrant mixed-income neighborhood.

And she’s far from alone.

According to Breast Cancer Statistics, a biannual publication for cancer clinicians, breast cancer is the second-most common cancer diagnosed among U.S. women, with some 252,710 new cases reported just last year.

It’s also the second leading cause of cancer death among women in this country.

Upwards of 40,000 women will die from breast cancer this year.
