Patients who have undergone chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgery may notice
uncomfortable swelling in arm, legs, chest, shoulder or fingers, difficulty fitting into clothing
in one specific area and/or fatigue that they attribute to the treatment. These symptoms may
be a sign of lymphedema, a condition treated with lymphedema therapy.
Scenic Mountain Medical Center Reopens to Visitors

On Wednesday (April 7, 2021), Scenic Mountain Medical Center (SMMC) will reopen its facility to visitors. Visitors for patients admitted with COVID-19 will still be restricted, but will be opened up for all other patients during set visiting hours.
St. Joseph Medical Center Appoints Associate Chief Nursing Officer

St. Joseph Medical Center recently announced that Michelle Ziakas, MSN, MBA, RN, will serve as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. In her new role, Ziakas will partner with the Chief Nursing Officer to oversee safety and quality aspects of patient care and manage the hospital's workforce, ensuring that each nursing department has adequate support and resources to carry out their jobs effectively.
SCENIC MOUNTAIN MEDICAL CENTER FULLY OPERATIONAL THROUGHOUT PHONE SERVICE OUTAGE CAUSED BY ROAD CONSTRUCTION
What: Scenic Mountain Medical Center is fully operational and continuing to serve patients through a temporary phone outage caused by nearby road construction.
Because 911 and internet service has been impacted by the outage, patients should immediately seek medical care in the event of an emergency.
AT&T officials have advised the hospital that service should resume by 8 p.m. CT.
Physiotherapy department at Karin Grech Hospital refurbished
29th March 2021 – Steward Health Care Malta has completed another investment in its hospitals with the refurbishment of the physiotherapy department at Karin Grech Hospital. This follows the recent announcement of the extensive upgrade project of the emergency and outpatients departments at Gozo General Hospital.
