Houston’s first hospital celebrated generations of community-based care

25th May 2022 -  Steward Health Care Malta (SHCM) carried out two separate initiatives in May to mark Stroke Awareness Month and to continue to raise awareness on the prevention and treatment of strokes.

23 May 2022 – Steward Health Care Malta is surprised by the Health Minister’s statements in the Maltese Parliament supporting the current contractual terms of the hospitals concession, which have been widely acknowledged by independent observers – both within Malta and in the European Union – to be wholly unsuitable and inappropriate.

On Wednesday, May 18, in conjunction with the celebration of National EMS Week, The Medical Center of Southeast Texas hosted its annual Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Stewards of the Community awards for the first time since 2019. The event recognized two EMS providers who not only carry out the noble work of caring for others, but do so with a degree of expertise, professionalism, and compassion that makes them leaders in their field.

20 May 2022 – Emergency department staff of Gozo General Hospital (GGH) recently had the opportunity to reach out to the community of Għarb and raise awareness on the importance of timely intervention and communication in cases of emergencies.

The Medical Center of Southeast Texas is excited to announce the recipient of the Sunshine Award for April 2022 is Tristan Burns, IMS CCC-SLP, a Speech Language Pathologist in the Therapy Department. It just so happens that Tristan received her award on National Speech Pathologist Day, and we think that means this award was meant to be!

Announcing the DAISY Award recipient for April 2022 is Sierra Roberts, a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab department at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

"Sierra is an outstanding, caring, and knowledgeable nurse. She treats you as if you are family and never leaves anything undone. She gives 100%, no matter what unit she is helping out. She is a team player, a great educator, and an all-around amazing soul.
