I was not feeling well following a procedure so I was referred to Colorectal Surgeon Romie Mundy, MD.  He knew exactly what needed to be done. He told me I would need two surgeries, how he was going to do them, and why. I instantly knew I was in good hands, so I dropped my health insurance and picked up my husband’s so I could see Dr. Mundy. I had surgery on a Tuesday and left the hospital on Friday feeling like a new person, and three months later I had the second surgery. I had never been to Holy Family Hospital prior to meeting Dr. Mundy.

I was in pain for two years; I couldn’t walk, especially up a hill, and sleeping was painful. I couldn’t lift anything because the pain was so bad. At first I thought it was my back, but it was my hip.  I initially saw Dr. Eugene Brady for evaluation, and he recommended Dr. Barry Bickley for total hip replacement surgery.  Dr. Bickley recommended that I have the surgery at Holy Family Hospital. The staff, from pre-op through discharge, was fabulous. Anything I needed - they were there. The day of my surgery, when the nurses got me up, I was expecting great pain…but I felt fine.

I suffered with pain that would shoot between my lower back and hips for 15 years, following the birth of my son. I tried non-surgical methods to alleviate my pain, but nothing worked until I met Orthopedic Spine Surgeon Nikhil Thakur, MD. Dr. Thakur was compassionate, caring and very thorough. If I ever needed this type of surgery again I would definitely go to him, and I would recommend him to anyone. All of my life I I’ve gone to Holy Family Hospital.  The staff was great. I was stiff after surgery but the physical therapists and nurses got me moving and helped me manage my pain.

I was a patient in the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill for a diabetic wound on my foot that wouldn’t heal. At the center I met Steve, the hyperbaric technician, who is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is very professional, dedicated, and we even became friends. Whenever I am at the hospital campus, I stop by to say hello to Steve. I would recommend hyperbaric oxygen therapy to anyone who needs it because I am almost completely healed now and Steve made my treatments pleasurable and easy.

All nurses and the emergency room deserve a gold star

I was most pleased with my wait time in the Emergency Room. I was treated well. Everyone was kind and told me what was happening every step of the way. The Emergency Room was very busy but I felt as though they moved quickly to help my situation. All of the nurses and the emergency room deserve a gold star. During my stay in St. Mary’s, Dr. Ergin was awesome and all of the staff were wonderful.
