Scenic Mountain Medical Center Offering $79 Mammograms During October

During the month of October and in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Scenic Mountain Medical Center is offering 2D mammograms for $79. To qualify for this special price, mammograms must be purchased in October but they may be redeemed at a later date.
According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will develop breast cancer. In 2020 it is estimated that a record 276,000 new cases will be diagnosed, and there is a one in 38 chance of dying from breast cancer.
Bariatric Surgery
Morbid obesity is diagnosed by determining Body Mass Index (BMI), the ratio of an individual’s height to his or her weight. Normal BMI ranges from 20-25. An individual is considered morbidly obese if he or she is 100 pounds over his/her ideal body weight, has a BMI of 40 or more, or 30 or more and experiencing obesity-related health conditions, such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Losing weight can be extremely difficult. And, for people who have 100 pounds or more to lose, it can be even more challenging.
