In the U.S., more people die of lung cancer than any other cancer combined. Most often, symptoms of lung cancer are not present until the cancer has spread and progressed to an advanced stage. That is why prevention and screening are so important in the fight against lung cancer.

One-thousand lives have been touched in some way by Dr. Kevin Lynch, general surgeon at Odessa Regional Medical Center, by delivering the best, minimally invasive surgical care for his patients in the Permian Basin. Early last week, Dr. Lynch officially performed his 1,000th robotic surgery, making him one of the most experienced robotic surgeons in West Texas.

A fellow Scenic Mountain Medical Center (SMMC) employee is counting his blessings after losing his home because of a fire on April 3. David Deasis, plant operations tech of 10 years at Scenic Mountain, received a $5,000 donation from the Steward Health Care Disaster Relief Foundation to help with expenses while he found a new home.

26th May 2021 – The Gozo General Hospital, operated by Steward Health Care Malta, has officially launched the first genitourinary medicine clinic, better known as GU clinic, in Gozo.  The clinic will operate on Friday afternoons on a fortnightly basis and offers a number of services aimed at the prevention as well as the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and infections (commonly referred to as STD’s and STI’s respectively) as part of the national health service.
