The Medical Center of Southeast Texas is excited to announce the recipient of the Sunshine Award for June 2022 is Willie Williams, a Materials Coordinator in Central Supply!

This month's DAISY recipient at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas is Jeri Pyles, an RN in the ICU Department!

Jeri was nominated by a patient who credits Jeri for the reason they're still alive today:

“After having open heart surgery and being so sick, I had given up on getting better. I thought I was going to die. Jeri brought me back to life and gave me hope. She is my guardian angel.”

The Medical Center of Southeast Texas names it's May Sunshine Award recipient – Jennifer Guillory, RVT, RDCS, a Cardiovascular Coordinator in the Cardiology department who was nominated by her peers for this award!

Announcing the DAISY Award recipient for May 2022 is Daisy Kinney, an LVN in Telemetry at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas!

"Daisy was my nurse for a couple of weeks. She caught my vitals going down and called a rapid. I truly feel if she was not my nurse, I wouldn’t be here anymore. Although she is not my nurse anymore, she still comes and checks on me often. She offers to assist with anything I need even though she isn’t my nurse. I am very thankful to know how much she cares for me."

On Wednesday, May 18, in conjunction with the celebration of National EMS Week, The Medical Center of Southeast Texas hosted its annual Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Stewards of the Community awards for the first time since 2019. The event recognized two EMS providers who not only carry out the noble work of caring for others, but do so with a degree of expertise, professionalism, and compassion that makes them leaders in their field.

The Medical Center of Southeast Texas is excited to announce the recipient of the Sunshine Award for April 2022 is Tristan Burns, IMS CCC-SLP, a Speech Language Pathologist in the Therapy Department. It just so happens that Tristan received her award on National Speech Pathologist Day, and we think that means this award was meant to be!

We’re honored to award this month’s #SUNSHINEAward to Angelique Scott, one of our most valued Housekeepers in our Environmental Services department. ☀️🌻

This month's DAISY recipient at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas is Parker Kidder, an RN in the ICU!

Read below for some of the many reasons he was nominated for the award:

“Parker always has a smile on his face and is happy to help wherever needed.

He was sent to the telemetry floor and had a patient that was coming down to ICU after a procedure. To help relieve the patient and family of anxiety he sat and gave them a run down on the unit.

All his patient's have nothing but positive feedback about him.”

The Medical Center of Southeast Texas names it's February Sunshine Award recipient – Maria Shawver, an Endoscopy Technician who was nominated by her peers for this award!

The Medical Center of Southeast Texas is excited to announce the recipient of the DAISY Award for February 2022 is Brad Bonham, an RN in the ICU.

Here are some of the reasons he was nominated for the award:

"Brad Bonham is an ICU charge nurse who always responds to rapid responses. He evaluates the patient with great clinical skill and expertise and coordinates the team to ensure the patient gets the best care. He also ensures the family members are comforted, reassured and updated."
