Steward Health Care and Good Samartian Medical Center Announce Appointment of New System-Wide Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Weinstein

Dr. Weinstein, a cardiologist, practiced locally in Easton/Brockton for nearly three decades. Steward’s first Chief Medical Officer Justine Carr recently retired, leaving a legacy of improvements at Good Samaritan Medical Center that have benefitted Brockton area families. Dr. Weinstein expressed his commitment to continuing this progress.

Norwood Hospital, part of the Steward Health Care System (Steward), today announced it was named to the prestigious Community Value Five-Star List as one of the top performing community hospitals in the country. Norwood Hospital received the 2016 Community Value Leadership Award from nationally-recognized data and consulting firm Cleverley + Associates.

Holy Family Hospital Now Offering Advanced Lung Cancer Screening for Current and Former Smokers at High Risk

Low-Dose CT uses state-of-the-art computed tomography to find lung cancer before there are symptoms. The detailed pictures detect potentially treatable lung cancers that are often too small to be detected with an x-ray. When lung cancer is detected at an early stage, success rates for treating the disease are much higher.

Family Donates Teddy Bears to Norwood Hospital

The Haglund Family of Norwood on October 29th hosted their 6th Annual Teddy Bear Tea in memory of their Aunt Maureen and Uncle Everett. Olivia, 16, and Isabel, 14 with their parents collected teddy bears in honor of this special aunt and uncle who brought the girls to the Teddy Bear Tea held at the Ritz Carlton in Boston each year. The girls donated a portion of the teddy bears to Norwood Hospital’s Emergency and Pediatric Departments and the remainder to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
