Odessa Regional Medical Center is open for Elective Procedures and All Other Medical Needs

September 18, 2020 - Yesterday, Governor Abbott announced the easing of statewide restrictions on elective procedures, effective immediately. This is good news for patients who had to postpone certain medical procedures due to these precautions.

From serious conditions to aches and pains, the health care needs of the Permian Basin community did not stop. Now is the time for individuals and families to get the medical care— from a routine check-up to a medical procedure -- that may have been postponed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amy Chatterton Promoted to Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Florence Hospital

Florence Hospital, a campus of Mountain Vista Medical Center, has selected Amy Chatterton as their new assistant chief financial Officer.  In her new position, Chatteron will be responsible for helping to maintain the financial health of the hospital by assisting with month-end closing tasks, compile and finalize financial information, year-end audit tasks, budget preparation, as well as enforce accounting policies and procedures.  Amy has more than 10 years of finance leadership experience in healthcare operations.

How The Medical Center of Southeast Texas Evacuated COVID-19 Patients for Hurricane Laura

Dr. Gary Mennie, Chief Medical Officer at Steward’s Medical Center of Southeast Texas, was profiled by U.S. News and World Report as one of their Hospital Heroes for his work during Hurricane Laura to evacuate COVID-19 patients ahead of the storm. Patients were transferred to a sister hospital in Houston, St. Joseph Medical Center.
