Steward Health Care System (“Steward”) today announced it has signed an Asset Purchase Agreement to acquire eight community hospitals affiliated with Community Health Systems (“CHS”). The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2017, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
