Employee Recognition Awards

Glenwood Regional Medical Center believes that exceptional patient care is the result of teamwork where each member of our staff plays a vital role in nurturing our patients and each other.  To honor this collaborative spirit, we've created a unique employee recognition program comprising of three prestigious awards.

The BEE Award, The DAISY Award, and the Sunshine Award recognize extraordinary staff that support total patient care at Glenwood.

Nominate and learn more about each award

The BEE Award - Dedicated to our non-clinical staff, The BEE Award (Being Extraordinary Every day) recognizes the extraordinary contributions of those who work tirelessly to create a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for our patients.

The DAISY Award - This award was created to honor the compassion and care nurses provide every day.

The Sunshine Award - Honoring our clinical ancillary staff, The Sunshine Award shines a light on their vital role in every patient's journey to better health.  From respiratory therapists, radiology technicians, occupational and physical therapists, and lab professionals, these dedicated team members provide the critical care and expertise that guide patients through healing, embodying the excellence and dedication at the heart of our mission to deliver exceptional healthcare.

Together, these awards form an ecosystem of care.  The DAISY (nurses) is nurtured by the Sunshine (clinical ancillary staff) and supported by the BEE (non-clinical staff).  Just as the daisy cannot bloom without the sun and the pollination of bees, our hospital cannot function without the collaboration of all three groups.  This interconnected system ensures that our patients receive the highest level of care and compassion from every department within Glenwood.

Nominate Today!  We invite you to fill out the form linked below to recognize a Glenwood employee who embodies the spirit of teamwork and excellence.  We ask that you please provide specific and details examples of how this individual has made a positive impact on patient care at Glenwood.

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day.  The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999.  During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family.  When he died, they felt compelled to say "thank you" to nurses in a very public way.  Please say thank you by sharing your story of how a nurse made a difference you will never forget!

Each DAISY Award Honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in her/his unit and will receive: a beautiful certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled A Healer's Touch.  Additionally, everyone in the unit will celebrate with cinnamon rolls--a favorite of Patrick's during his illness. The Barnes Family asks that whenever and wherever nurses smell that wonderful cinnamon aroma, they stop for a moment and think about how special they are.
