“We are appreciative of the thoughtful review of our transition plan and the guidance we received from the Department of Public Health,” said Mark Girard, MD, president of Steward Hospitals. “Quality, patient care, patient safety and uninterrupted patient access to Emergency Room services have been top priorities of our transition plan.”

The Department of Public Health approved QMC’s plan to stop new admissions to inpatient units on December 20, 2014. As of today, there are no remaining inpatients at Quincy Medical Center.
