UMass Dartmouth Nursing Students:
Here Are 3 Reasons to Start Your Nursing Career at Saint Anne’s Hospital

Saint Anne's Nurses Supporting Each Other

1. We’ll Pay Down Your Student Debt.

College is expensive—but your nursing education is invaluable. That’s why Saint Anne’s Hospital is now offering $20,000 in tuition reimbursement for newly licensed nurses.

How It Works
Your tuition reimbursement starts the day you complete your department orientation, typically three to four months after your hire date.  Reimbursement is paid in bi-weekly installments over 36 months.

To be eligible, you must graduate with a 4-year nursing degree (BSN) from UMass Dartmouth.

2. We’ll Give You a Head Start on Your Nursing Skills.

The Student Nurse Internship is a unique program offered only at Saint Anne’s Hospital. It offers you one-on-one learning alongside an experienced RN and helps you build your skills and confidence.

Who is eligible?
Any nursing student participating in an accredited college nursing program who:

  • has completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course
  • is currently employed as a Collegiate Nurse Tech (CNT) at Saint Anne’s Hospital

If you are interested in the Student Nurse Internship but are not currently employed as a CNT: we are welcoming new CNT applicants, and any student hired as a CNT may immediately apply for the internship.

What will I learn in the internship?

  • collaborating with a team of health care professionals from a variety of clinical areas
  • performing clinical assessments
  • bedside shift reporting, and communicating with patients, family members, and physicians
  • catheter management, including safely inserting, removing, and maintaining IV catheters, feeding tubes, urinary tubes, and nasogastric tubes, and maintaining chest tubes
  • assessing care environments to prevent harm, including falls, pressure injuries, and infections
  • practicing advanced wound care techniques

What is the time commitment?
We recommend one internship shift per week, for up to 48 internship shifts per year, in addition to regular CNT shifts.

How do I apply for the internship?
If you are currently employed as a CNT at Saint Anne’s Hospital, ask your supervisor for an internship application.

If you are not a current CNT, you must first apply for a CNT position. Apply online at jobs.steward.org by searching for “Collegiate Nurse Tech”.

3. We’ll Support and Train You, Even After You Graduate.
