Nashoba Valley Medical Center (NVMC) is among the first hospitals in New England to acquire the SynergyUHD4 4K by Arthrex®, which is the most advanced, multispecialty surgical visualization system in the world. The new revolutionary system integrates an ultra, high definition 4K programmable camera head, LED lighting, and an image management system into one console.

“The vividness of the images on the SynergyUHD4 4K is providing us with a higher level of diagnostics,” said Paul Harasimowicz, MD, chief of Surgery at Nashoba Valley Medical Center. “With this equipment, we see more clearly with a higher definition, which improves our diagnostic abilities and overall surgical care.”

The system’s high clarity, color and precision gives NVMC’s surgeons a greater level of visualization inside the body enabling them to provide patients with better surgical care during arthroscopic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic procedures.

“NVMC’s acquisition of the SynergyUHD4 4K system is a nearly half million-dollar investment in additional state-of-the-art technology for the hospital,” said Salvatore Perla, president of Nashoba Valley Medical Center. “Over the last year, we’ve made significant enhancements to our technology throughout the entire hospital and this new visualization system furthers the hospital’s goals of improving the efficiency of the overall operating room experience, enhancing diagnostic capabilities and delivering the highest of quality health care to our patients.”

An additional feature of the visualization system that aids in the overall patient experience and improves patient communication is the transfer of all images and videos taken during a surgical procedure directly into an iPad surgeon application.
